I'm considering taking a good look at one of these. But first I want want to find out if it has a forked Eb/Ab mechanism that provides the same function as a left hand Eb/Ab key, i.e. makes it possible to slur from low Eb up a forth to low Ab (and vice versa). This would be a nice feature on a student priced horn. I have heard that it has this mechanism but I'd like to know for sure before I order one for a trial. Also can anyone tell me how the Yamaha compares to the Ridenour Lyrique bass. I tried a Ridenour a few months back and while I was favorably impressed the sound and response I couldn't get with the lousy keywork.
