 Clarinet nightmare
Author: Bill
Date:   2016-07-16 18:07

Last night I dreamed I was watching someone try to play but the rings on his clarinet were not landing correctly around the tone holes. I kept trying to say "Man! Check the pivot screws on that brille!"

Frightening!

Good one, Bill! I'll bet other people have musical nightmares, too. Years ago, I had a recurring nightmare about playing a solo in my high school orchestra. Just as I raised the clarinet to my mouth, the metal ligature would suddenly spring open with a loud POP! -- and as the screws went flying, the reed would fall off.

I have a lot of crazy dreams, some that defy description. People at work have repeatedly suggested I should write a book relating them. I think I'm crazy.

This music-related one came last week. A shabby looking guy was sitting in my kitchen. He was holding a large pink bird carcass like an extra-large turkey upright in his lap. He was wailing and moaning a terrible song. His left-hand fingers were up on the bird's neck fingering like it was a cello, and his right hand was rubbing and slapping it's belly. He was vigorously tapping his right foot. At one point he paused, and with a mournful expression he squeezed open a hole in the bottom of the bird with his fingers so that the edges of the hole pursed open like a coin pouch; it was totally black inside. Then he resumed redoubled his wailing and crying and slapping and stomping his bedamned song.

I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only one with crazy dreams!!!! One clarinet dream I remember from back in day (cause it was particularly wild) ended up with me seeking a metal clarinet maker in Mexico known for making pure silver clarinets, and just as I was about to buy two of them we were attacked by ninjas, at which point I grabbed the two silver clarinets, held them bell put towards the ninjas and (of course) used them as guns shooting silver bullets our of the bells and fighting my way back out and back into the USA!

Great clarinet dream Alexi - shooting your way free of Mexican ninjas with silver clarinets shooting silver bullets. Should be standard issue for the troops that'll man Trump's wall.

Perhaps you are eating food just before going to sleep which will induce these dreams every time.
