Yes I think that classical/orchestral clarinet mouthpiece facings are different to most saxophone mouthpiece facing shapes as we need more resistance, or 'something to lean onto'. But I'm pretty sure that classical saxophone mouthpiece facings are the same shape as classical/orchestral clarinet mouthpieces as they need a bit of resistance as well.
I have read a few posts on this board in regards to clarinet mpce facings and most describe the curve as what I've drawn up on the graph. I haven't been able to put in the extra sharp curve near the tip of the mouthpiece which is usually there but I think I've got the general shape of it.
Can anyone confirm that what I have drawn on the bottom graph is indeed what the original classical clarinet mouthpiece intended to look like?
