Une Pensee Lointaine by E.S. Thornton Pub. Cundy Bettoney. Out of print, but available through clarinet public domain sites. It is exactly what you need...sounds hard, but lays very well for the instrument.

This a traditional 1880s cadenza, melody, theme/variations with a Presto flash at the end.

I for one am tired of eclectic stuff no member of the general public wants to hear.
