 YCL-26 vs YCL-26II
Author: Adult Beginner

Hello,

I've bought a Yamaha clarinet of ebay as a 'have a go' beginners clarinet. It was advertised as a YCL-26II, which is what I was looking for.

However it has turned up as a a YCL-26 (ie Mk1). If I have googled correctly it might be the Japanese market version? It is marked 'Nippon Gakki Japan'.

Can anyone help me with the differences between the Mk1 and the Mk2, if any? I assume there are some hence the MkII designation.

I'm trying to work out if I have reason to take this up with the seller as incorrectly described as its not as good as the mkII, or essentially its the same clarinet and I should avoid the stress and just play it..

Many thanks
M
