 Love Reinecke Op. 274

Yet another wonderful composer I've managed to miss, Carl Reinecke (1824-1910). My chamber group is working on his Op. 274 Trio for clarinet, horn, and piano.

I happened upon a lovely rendition on YouTube and now have a "clarinet crush" on an artist named, Lorenzo Coppola. I think he is playing a period instrument for this performance. I looked on Wikipedia and couldn't find anything about him but he's definitely worth a listen.

Thanks a lot for this link. To me Lorenza Coppola is one of the most interesting clarinettists of our time.

In the video he's playing a boxwood copy of an Ottensteiner clarinet by Schwenk und Seggelke. Lorenzo has recorded the Brahms sonatas on this instrument.
