Greetings!
Today I received my Backun Protege barrel to use on my E12F. Upon sliding it on, it made it about 7/8's of the way down with no resistance but then was instantly stuck and I have not been able to move it for the past 8 hours. Upon recommendation from almost everyone I'm trying to make it to my repair tech ASAP, however this raises a few questions for me. Upon further looking into this, I found multiple sites stating the tenon size is larger than standard clarinet joints. If this is true, the thing is Backun's barrel fit chart said the Protege barrel would be compatible with the E12F, and I even confirmed this by contacting them before I purchased it. What does this all mean for me and my repair tech? Should I tell him to shave down the tenon or should I send back the barrel even though I was told it should be compatible? Is love to be able to use a new barrel oppose to being forced to buy a new clarinet as currently that's out the question financially. Thanks in advance!
