Oh dear bethren............... please forgive me for I have sinned...... yes really sinned.
In a moment of absolute madness I went over to the dark side.........
YESSS........ the double reed!

The oboe player in the orchestra left and also the first player in the concert band I play in moved to new pastures.

It all started when I was invited to play in a crumhorn consort several months ago.
I had never even seen one before but had fantastic fun playing soprano. I grew to like that double reed embouchure manipulating feeling........ even through a wooden lid.

Then I had to know what it was like...... lip on reed........... so yes... I went in gently.......... bought a professional oboe reed and did that toot toot..... crowing 'C' and avidly looked at all the vids on You Tube relating to oboe embouchure LOL
The when I could crow a C all down the reed........ I went into operation oboe buying mode. Just a restored B and H Imperial but...... you know........ I am lovin' it.........

I wlll release the beast when I am really happy with it...... I am in the closet at moment.

Yes I know LOL :-)
