Marcellus indeed had much more integrity than most....especially considering what has gone on nowadays!
But that was also a different time as far as commercial pressure was concerned. The only things that he openly lent his name and reputation to were:
Buffet R-13 clarinets (usually selected by Carl Marks Sr.)
Frank Kaspar mouthpieces - Chicago or Cicero (non-modified)
Morre German 12.5 tip, 2 1/2 strength reeds
Bonade inverted ligatures (adjusted to work as designed)
Moennig barrels (Buffet replicas or custom made from billets by Moennig)
Moennig clarinet repairs/modifications
