I received a barrel where the bore was ~0.2 mm off-center. That meant one wall was 2.8 mm while the other was 3.2 mm. Did not look nice at all. Got the answer that this does neither affect sound (might be true) nor the risk of cracking (really?). Was also told their tolerance is 0.26 mm for the centering, so that's the max off-center bore you should get.
I am happy with the traditional grenadilla barrels I received. The Hondurian rosewood barrels I ordered for a Leblanc Symphonie VII took away the bright sound so I won't use them.
You can specify measurements when you order which is a great plus.
