Oh, you know it never occurred to me to be specific about the BG reference. I refer to the soft bodied BG ligatures which are GREAT. I think you are thinking of the metal BG ligatures which NEVER worked for me. For some odd reason the BG metal ligature is asymmetric, with more material on the vamp side of the ligature (a lop sided hammock). The M/O makes sense, it is symmetric. And for some reason it is one of the only ligatures that even firmly held (and I mean firm WITHOUT any wiggling at all) the Legere reeds on my Masters (you do have to lightly score the interior to prevent 'ligature creep' with the Legere).
