I don't think that you will reinfect yourself after a cold. A main concern is that you should be resting when you have cold which may lead to a bad sore throat or a cough if you try to play on your instrument.
If you are afraid of the germs on the reeds, then wat about those in the air when you sneeze? Maybe you should rinse your mouth before and after practice and wipe saliva off your reeds. it should do the trick....
