Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I just came upon a Selmer Depose A Clarinet Series 10S w/ serial number A9266. I'm test playing it now, does anyone know if it is a good instrument or should I get the Leblanc Legacy A Clarinet? I didn't try the Leblanc yet but it has the left hand Eb lever and this one doesn't. So far the Selmer A clarinet sounds great. Would love to hear others personal opinions, especially those who've played both. Oh, and one more thing; Could I have the Eb lever added onto the Selmer if I really liked it better than the Leblanc? Thanks for your time!
Cheers,
Chris L.

That's an early 10S which should be a good instrument - they're a narrow bore clarinet but do have a very full, fruity sound. I've never been disappointed with how any Selmer Paris clarinet plays that I've worked on, even when they were originally in poor condition and scrubbed up well.
A LH Ab/Eb lever can always be fitted to any clarinet that doesn't have it - see the attachment which is a Selmer (USA) Signet 100 I was asked to fit one on as the owner decided to get rid of his Buffet RC Prestige in favour of the Selmer Signet he's had since the '70s.
