Can deep scratches on the Mouthpiece table be filled successfully with commonly available materials?

You're probably better off sending it to someone who does refacing that has the tools specially for mouthpiece work. You can potentially make the table worse if you do it yourself and don't know what you're doing. Refacing doesn't cost a whole lot, especially if this is your primary and beloved mouthpiece.

I found a great product for repairing fractures to the mouthpiece tenons. It is called Black Milliput Epoxy putty. It starts out as a putty and then hardens to an epoxy. Superb results.

If the mouthpiece plays fine otherwise, leave the scratches alone. On the table they don't hurt anything, except your pride when you remove the reed and your standmates see the scratches and point and laugh and call you a noob and embarrass you and cause you to want to crawl under the nearest Manhasset stand and hide and then make an appointment with the psychoanalyst and take up contrabassoon and.......
