This are the ICOSM orchestra's only, there are many SMALLER orchestra in the US that aren't members, mostly because they're not large enough and they make much less then even the lowest listed orchestras. Many have short seasons, 20-30 weeks and only employ 20-30 full time musicians. They amount to being a part time job for those musicians. By the way, the Baltimore Symphony salary listed is not correct, it was a few years ago but we've taken a big hit, as many others have recently. Next year, instead of the 85K listed, we will be somewhere around 67K and will have to play 2400 more for our health insurance next year then we are now so our salary will really be around 65K. Our high was about 4 years ago when we would have earned 90K had we received that for the entire year but that's when it began going down, down, down. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
