The Brannens of Evanston IL make their own triple thick fish bladder pads - guaranteed to last over 10 year!

Leather works well too as suggested above. Emillio of Rayburn Music, Boston puts a rubberized coating on his. Still, he suggests a monthly application of "Old English" furniture polish to keep them from drying out and cracking.


And if you're not completely turned of of synthetics, the Kraus Omni Pads are a gas !!! Sooooooo much more improved over the Valentino initial foray into the synthetic realm.
