Never met the gentleman, but I do know he's one heck of a clarinetist! A group of clarinetist friends and I heard him at ClarinetFest a few years ago at the University of Maryland, and even among all the fabulous virtuosi who played there, his performance just knocked us out -- he had the most wonderful, complex tone, and every other aspect of his playing was equally impressive.
