If it works, by all means use it.
I've got the opposite problem in that I play on the sharp side (which is rare being primarily a sax player - though I was taught clarinet by a great clarinettist/teacher) and use the 67mm barrel from my Series 9 Bb on both Bb and A full Boehms. I also found a 68mm 9* barrel on eBay which was new old stock, so I can use that without pulling out.
My most recent acquisition which is a Series 9* set have a 66mm barrel for the Bb and a 65mm one for the A - they're both too short for me.
I tend to use the same barrel on both instruments.
