Could a bass clarinetist here help me rate these according to difficulty. The context is a high school all state audition played by a junior in high school.
These are the New York State All State Audition Choices for Bass Clarinet (Level 6 in New York is the hardest level)
4= too hard/mature, college level, shouldnt be approached by high school student
3= most difficult, attainable by a very mature player
2= very appropriate and playable
1= wow, THIS is on the all state list??....it should be a level 5!
Bach, J.S./Caravan, R. - BACH FOR THE CLARINET (2,13,23 - ALL) or (10,30,39 - ALL) or just #11
Chopin, F./Davis, S. - ETUDE, OP 25, NO 7
Dykstra, B. - TWO RAGS FOR BASS CLARINET (both)
Fasch, J. - SONATA FOR BASS CLARINET (Mtvs. 1&4)
Galliard, J./Kreiselman, J. - SIX SONATAS FOR BASS CLARINET, VOL1, NO 3
Galliard, J./Kreiselman, J. - SIX SONATAS FOR BASS CLARINET, VOL2, NO 4
Nixon, R. - VARIATIONS FOR BASS CLARINET
Osbourne, W - RHAPSODY FOR CLARINET
