I've been loaned an R13 A clarinet for the Summer from a local university and it plays like a dream. I ran a serial number search and it's from 1977. The only complaint I have about it is that someone bought a 67MM Moennig barrel for it and it makes me terribly flat on the throat tones, everything else seems to be +- 5cents. Go used, I'm sure you can find an older R13 that you will find blows you away.
