The A key on my clarinet kinda makes a buzzing noise when I push on it. Anyone have this problem, and/or know how to fix it? Thanx

You could also have a slight tear in the pad or the bladder may be loose and vibrating. If it has the proper open height and it still gives you that "buzzing" sound try replacing the pad. I prefer the cork pads because they eliminate the buzz. I understand that Valentino has a "Greenback" pad that is supposed to be as good as cork, but I haven't tried them. Good Luck.

Both good answers in the right circumstance. Could be the height of key itself (how much it opens when depressed) or it could be physical characteristics of the pad, such as a tear, etc. In the very short term, take a fresh $1 bill & close the A key over it, followed by pulling the $1 bill slowly out, being careful not to tear the pad (or the bill).
Some people don't like this, I carry a $1 bill in my clarinet case for this purpose. Be advised $10, $20, $50 & $100's are unsuitable for this purpose! (just kidding) :>)
Good luck. mw

Hey, thatnx for all your help.... small problem though. My A key pad fell off completely today (PANIC)! Can I just glue it back on? How much on average will it cost to repair this? (I am Canadian, so canadian $$ would be greatly appreiciated). Thanx again ;Þ
