The little information I've found on the web is that indeed, Barklee clarinets were made in New York and the company was bought by LeBlanc. I gather that they did not make very many clarinets. My pair are serial numbers 930 and 931.
I've seen a number of Barklee Bb clarinets sell on Ebay for pennies, so I imagine that they made several levels of instruments.
