i do play one as my first instrument : very good sound in the lower registers , but indeed rather bright compared to my other instruments when playing altissimo.

Very good tuning .

Right hand pinky keys are rather high compared to other instruments.

Very good instrument though. A bit to much resistance in the beginning of the tube, you need a rather open mouthpiece and softer reeds. And yes , that makes the altissimo brighter

I did buy mine for 1200,- euros

You can ( very seldom ) find them at around 800 euros

But then , i think 10s would be a better choice
