I've had that procedure. For me it was to provide for two teeth (#9 and 10 if you know your dental numbers) after they were knocked out in a bicycle crash.
The donation site was the point of my jaw.
Long term there have been no complications. Though I now have a more prominent chin.
Short term ... ugh. Swelling, pain, liquid diet. I expect you'll not be able to play for at least 10 to 14 days. Due to a couple of complications it was over a year between knocking my teeth out and having the implants fully installed.
Upside though, implants are wonderful. If I were to crack teeth again for whatever reason I wouldn't hesitate about getting implant replacements.
