 Re: Madelon clarinet

A very quick search of the archives reveals that the Madelon metal clarinet was made by Cundy Bettoney of Boston during the 1907-1950 time period.

Cundy Bettoney made a few intermediate level clarinets (ex. Boston Wonder) but the Madelon is a student grade clarinet of minimum value.

According to Jim Lande's yearly metal clarinet survey, past Madelon clarinets have sold on Ebay between $36 and $102.

Restoring a metal clarinet COULD BE a costly proposition which might far outweigh the value of the instrument, especially if there a frozen screws, rusted springs and if polishing is requested...GBK
