 Madelon clarinet

My daughter inherited a Silver B-flat clarinet with Madelon on the bell
it's in pretty good shape no dents, scratches, etc. but definately needs pads, cleaning etc. She's a Junior in high school and has played clarinet since 6th grade, she's in Jazz band, Marching band, and Pep band. She also plays Tenor Sax. She plans on continuing to play clarinet through college. I can't find any info on how old this instrument might be, it's value or whether it's worth fixing for her to play. Can I take it to my local Schmitt Music to get it fixed? It's in what appears to be the original case and looks fairly old. Can anyone help me out with these questions or tell me where I can find the answers.

Thanks Lynn in Minneapolis
