The arrangements of Mother Goose cannot become available at least till 2012 as it is still in copyright till then.
The low parts are played on a Bb contrabass. They would fit on the contra-alto but Alan preferred the sound on the lower instrument.
The picture inside the sleeve doesn't necessarily represent the actual instruments used, the 'alto' you thought was extended to C is, in fact a Basset-horn. The alto used was actually only extended to D.
I agree it is a splendid CD and look forward to further developments.
I recommend this to everyone!
