Has anyone ever tried or know anything about the Power Tone Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece Baffles?
They sound at least interesting...someone must know something about them.
Hopefully they're not akin to the dreaded Vibrator reeds of yesteryear!

It's just a mass produced baffle insert. You can try some plasticene or stick tack material to build up the baffle also. I'm sure the power baffle adds lots of punch to the sound. I have a Jody Jazz baritone sax mouthpiece with a baffle insert that extends to make a secondary reed inside the mouthpiece. Santy Runyon was the originator of this concept I believe. For me the baffle does more than the secondary reed. Another example of this idea is the Strathon adjustable mouthpiece for saxes. The baffle insert slides back and forth producing different amounts of edge depending where you place it. If the power tone baffle is cheap enough buy one and try it. My next gadget purchase is the Doc's Power Barrel. That sounds interesting. I'm sure I won't being playing much Mozart with it.
