Taking up guitar isn't doubling, it's just learning to play another instrument.
Are you currently switching between both instruments on the same gig? I wonder if there are orchestral or band clarinet parts that specify doubling on guitar (instead of the usual Eb or bass clarinet - or flute, oboe or sax), and say 'change to guitar' for a section and later on 'change to clarinet'.
Though I very much doubt it - and neither would a guitar part ask you to double on clarinet as clarinet isn't a rhythm section instrument. Reeds and rhythm never cross pollinate in everyday settings.

Overactive imagination here:
But can't you just see it. You are the best doubler on the planet. Your playing reed 1 or something for some random musical as a favour to a friend. You turn the page and suddenly it says 'take bagpipe/double bass/grandpiano' etc.

Oh yeah (silly old me, eh?) - I wondered where I was going wrong - I thought it just meant woodwinds!
Now, where did I leave my hurdy-gurdy, accordion and ophiclide? The 3rd reed part in 'West Side Story' requires them, along with the other ten instruments!
