I would like to apologize for asking this, because I have seen that these questions get asked a lot. I searched you forum and have a list of serial numbers, but can not find my clarinets # among them. I recently purchased a buffet crampon e 11 serial # 5157xx from a pawn shop of all places. anyway, I am curious about how old it is and if I can find more info. on it period. I'm pretty out of the loop as you can see from my user name. Thank you for your help! shari

Hi Shari,
No need to apologize. What you're looking for seems quite tough to find. I've had a look across the web and can't find any serial number data for your horn. Your best bet is probably to contact the USA headquarters of Buffet-Crampon:
marketing@usa.buffetcrampon.fr
or
904-821-0234
I'm starting over myself (wish I'd thought of that user name first)
Don't be shy to pipe up and ask whatever questions are on your mind!
Best of Luck!
Chris

Could E13 numbers be applicable also to E11? Maybe. See link below:

When oh when will Buffet reinstitute the intermediate and student number search site?

The E-13 numbers are 5 digits, the E-11 number she's looking for is 6 digits.

No - The E11 serial numbers are very different than the E13.
In my collection of clarinets I do have one E11, which I acquired used. The serial number is in the 625xxx range and I seem to remember that I was told the production year was about 1999.
I could be off by a year or two...GBK
