You will receive many diverse opinions on the subject, because with the decades of time and numerous clarinets that would be required to perform a proper scientific study to determine the 'optimum' oiling scheme (if there even is such a thing), the time and money to get that answer don't exist. So, like the choice of motor oil for your automobile, what you will get are opinions, all of them equally valid (or invalid!).
For the record, my suggestion would be to oil the bore lightly about once a year. If your clarinet hasn't been oiled in many years, I'd suggest a heavier application the first time.
