Good Afternoon,
I’m looking or confirmation of the bore shape and diameter or both the LeBlanc LL’s circa 1964 and the Pete Fountain of the same period. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Hi again Chazman - Have you made a "Search" in our archives? I believe what you are asking for, is there, it may take a bit of reading , otherwise its quite a task to reproduce it. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Please go right ahead, gather the relevant thread references, and post them here, chazman. I'm sure others would appreciate it.
They won't appear by themselves, and expecting others to do the work would be selfish.

That was Mark, not Don, and yes, I missed the "we" in your original post.
My bad.

Hi Chaz - Mark C and GBK run our fine BBoard, some of our reader-posters are skillful in site "reconstruction", I am NOT, sorry. Much of our "re-searching" takes place in libraries and in other internet sites and requires hours, even to find simple answers. If only bore character and approximate bore size is your present target, both horns are almost certainly cylindrical, or nearly so, down to the mid lower joint. They originated in the time period when Buffet [Carree et al] was researching modified [conical, poly-cyl] bores for tuning the 12ths, and patent considerations were prob. important. The PF's and earlier/later big bore Leblancs [15.0 mm] were among a few others made in Europe and US. The LL's and others were of "medium bore size" , perhaps 14.7 to14.9, ?most about 14.8?, no "small bores" 14.6 [like Buffets] to the best of my knowledge. My study of bore configurations is very rudimentary and I have the feeling, "I've told you more than what I really know".. Hope this is of some help. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

If it helps any, my Pete Fountain model (the wooden varietal) is 16.05mm across the bore. It's a MONSTER to play, and tunes better than bagpipes.
These are not for the faint of heart, that's for certain.

SB - Are you positive that its 16 mm [not 15], 16 is in a Basset horn [in F orG] bore range, is it not ?? As far as I have read/seen only B & H made some bores [1010] much abpve 15mm. Comments/others please. A good cl f[r]iend inherited an interesting Leblanc, ser. # 3xxx which has 3 features, 1. the 7th ring for 3rd Fi,LH for fork Eb/Bb, BUT no small tone hole [for correct intonation], 2. a "doubled " F/C pad [like my Selmer 33 bass cl] and 3. a Stubbims-like register key with the same 2 pads [for good pinch Bb and better {according to S in his book} 12 ths tuning]. I'd guess its a mid '50's cl ! ? A museum model ? HELP, Please. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
