Here's some off the top of my head:
- Schubert, Octet for strings and winds (theme and variations movement), but the Baerenreiter Edition also provides part transcribed for Bb.
- Martinu, quintet for 2 clarinets, violin, viola and cello. This is a bear to transpose, a c clarinet would be most helpful.
- Verdi, Overture to Luisa Miller. Great clarinet solo and some challenging ensemble sections, although I played it on the Bb and it worked.
My opinion: better to buy a basset horn than a C clarinet. I believe the basset horn should be every clarinetist's third instrument (after Bb, A). Too much great and essential music written for basset horn.
