What on earth is going on?

A few minutes ago I saw a 'This thread is closed.' message.

Now, someone makes a funny, light hearted comment about neurotic brass players and again: 'This thread is closed.'

I'm all in favour of censorship when it's absolutely necessary and intelligent editing of messages, but this is getting ridiculous. Within a discussion forum there has to be room for serious topics but also a certain amount of banter and off-topic chat.

There is no need to insult our intelligence!

Please read the rules again. As moderators we set the tone and decide when and when not to close a thread. We give plenty of latitude in the topics.

It's not your decision to make.
