Help! A masterclass facilitator noticed this and I didn't really hear it at first, but now it's bugging me quite a bit (especially in Copland Concerto Intro). When I play long pipe notes, especially E and B, I get this really buzzy sound like the bell is resonating too much or something.
Any suggestions/comments? Thanks!

Did you try playing it without the bell? The bottom trim ring of the bell, if you have one, may be a little loose. At least trying it without the bell can help rule out one possible loose part.

I have that same problem. I don't know if it as severe as yours, but it was pretty bad. I had a lesson with a future college private lessons teacher and he noticed this, tried my clarinet, and suggested I get all the bottom pads replaced, but especially the C# key. I did and it sounds MUCH better! Also, he suggested I look at my throat when playing because my tongue actually moved when I went over the break, slurring. Which means I was cutting off air (inadvertantly) and making my B speak less....and it had a buzzy sound. And it was like that even in the low E, but especially in my throat A, Bb, and B. So watch yourself when you play and make sure that your not moving your tongue's position....play a two (or three) octave F Major scale, slurred, and slowly to make sure your tongue does not move (watch your throat...you'll see it move if the tongue does....)
yea, so get the pads checked out...check your tongue position....and that's all I can think of. This is what worked for me. I had fuzzy throat tones, took this teacher's advice, and improved. my advice might not work for you, but I am just sharing my experience...perhaps it'll work for you.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll come back here and look for more later. I'll try taking off the bell (or I may just try some Backun products...hehe) and I'll try watching in the mirror for excessive tongue movement.
