Can anyone tell me how to actually get ahold of a human at the Buffet factory outside of Paris? (email has not worked)And do they act as a retail facility in any capacity?

Don't know how to contact the Paris office other than calling or faxing if they're not answering email.
No, they don't sell to consumers, only to distributors.

Buffet Crampon et Cie, 5 rue Maurice Berteaux, 78711 Mantes la Ville, France. Phone 0130985130 Sylvie Irvoas is in charge of PR. The CEO is Paul Baronnat. Mark is right in saying they do not generally sell retail, but I believe some professional musicians try out and buy instruments there upon rendez-vous. Otherwise the music stores in the rue de Rome in Paris or Bleucher at Bastille can arrange for a buyer to try a selection of instruments. I tried eight RCs before I bought mine. It was approximately the same price as in the US. By the way, Buffet and Selmer are almost next door to one another in the same little side street at Mantes. Leblanc also in the neighborhood.
