Search the web for "Jane Brockman" without the quotes. She has written some pieces for clarinet and electronics. Gerry Erante has recorded some of her work. She sells her pieces direct at very reasonable prices.* Difficult but sound like fun. Worth it for the accompaniment tracks.
Libby Larsen has written several works involving clarinet, including "Dancing Solo"* for clarinet alone. Her works are difficult, however (as are the works of Tower, Musgrave and Brockman).
Listed, among others at http://www.womensmusic.com/playlist201.html
Carolyn Bremer, Clarinet Sonata
Germaine Tailleferre, Arabesque* (also perhaps a sonata* for clarinet solo)
Mary Jeanne van Appledorn, Sonatine
Jeanne E. Shaffer, Three Faces of Woman
In addition to the Shaffer, Richard Stoltzman has recorded:
Margaret Brouwer, Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra
Marilyn Ziffrin, Clarinet Concerto
Mary Ann Griebling, Wild Wood - Quiet Wood
Norma Wendelburg, Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra
Some other works that come to mind:
Deborah Drattell, Clarinet Concerto -- Fire Dances
Johanna Senfter, Sonata for Clarinet and Piano*
Katherine Hoover, Clarinet Concerto*
Violet Archer, Sonata*; Sonatina*
Margaret Sutherland, Sonata
Deon Nielsen Price, several works* (search the web)
Marion Bauer (search the web for info), Sonata for Clarinet (or Viola) and Piano*
Finding the music for these may be difficult in many cases. Most of them have been recorded. I have marked the ones I know have been published (or are available from the composer) with an asterisk. I have only listed works for solo clarinet, concertos or works with piano that came to mind. Try searching the composition database on this site for additional information about these works.
Pieces that I think are not particularly difficult include those by Bauer, Archer, and Senfter.
Best regards,
jnk
