 Juilliard's Purpose

I have a question about Juilliard. Is Juilliard only a school for performance or is it also for education?

AJ, if you think you are being ignored by the board, perhaps that's correct. The participants of the Bulletin Board are pleased to assist anyone with information that may be confusing or hard to find. However, the obvious best source for information on Juilliard is not here. Instead, ask Juilliard.

I also suggest that if you have set your heart on attending Juilliard without knowing the basics about what they would try to teach you, perhaps it's time for you to reassess your educational priorities.

It's universally recognized as a great school, turning out superb performers. Aside from many others I've known with Juilliard educations,.my favorite Clarinetist has a Masters in Clarinet from Juilliard: Eddie Daniels.

Regards,
John
