For those that would like to see the names of the 1st and 2nd prize winners (1795 - 1987) for each of the years' compositions (you'll notice some very familiar names from the early history of the clarinet) you can reference the article in The Clarinet magazine, Volume 15 Number 3, May/June 1988.

The same article includes a wonderful photograph of the clarinet class at the Paris Conservatoire in 1913 (the year Daniel Bonade was a prize winner), as Bonade and others observe a classmate performing. ...GBK
