CUBIT? Dern it, Ken, you made me look it up. Off top-of-head, thot it was the distance between fingertips of outspread arms, as in that old pic. But no, its the "length of forearm" [ancient], generally some 18-20 inches. Used about as often a "furlongs per fortnight" to measure velocity!! Today is already a good one, I learned something "useful"?? Don

Just heard from someone who has a Cubitt & Sons clarinet and he's wondering what it might be worth. It is in good condition and apparently plays wonderfully. It's an A clarinet, rosewood, with silver keys. Does anyone have input on what it might be worth?

There's no real way to find out what such a clarinet is worth via BBoard - there's no comps on eBay, and something that unusual needs a real appraisal by someone who understands woodwinds.
BTW - the same person I'll bet approached me and asked for info, thus this thread. It's now going in circles, so unless someone has more info on Cubitt, it's closed.
