[ deleted link. I found it moderately humorous without being political - but I guess many others didn't ]

Oh come on, that was funny.
"Almost never catch fire or poison you..."
I've been through marketing sessions that did worse.
This guy is in public domain, after all.

Mark, I second liquorice. This is an international bulletin board so let's leave politics out of it, can we, and stick to music.

C'mon, liquorice and beejay! Where is your sense of humor? The man would beat the pants off Leno and Letterman any night! He provided the only smile in this recent period, from friend and foe alike. He would do well in our system (Wall Street?).

Henry,
If you really want to go down this route, I could start retailing some of the European jokes about your leaders. Your attitude is precisely why Americans are getting to be so unpopular over here. So please, can we stick to clarinets. If not, I for one, am out of here.

I didn't know this was political. This guy transcends politics into the realm of pure humor.
As a PR professional, I think this guy's efforts at spin control were priceless.n

Although I also find this hilarious (as an American clarinetist), I must agree with the concerns of our international community that this subject matter is as inappropriate for this forum as were the old Clinton-Gore jokes which regularily got deleted. Just my opinion for what it is worth...................

I guess my attempt at satyre (rather gentle, I thought) was either misplaced, wasted, or misunderstood. Well....
Anyway, the original post clearly had to do with clarinets!

Allright, now I'm really curious as to what was originally said. Can anyone e-mail me the original post? BTW, I heard on public radio the other day, three Iraqi musicians trying to get support to open their music schools and music halls and get some of their music institutions going again. One was a clarinettist whose hand was injured by a bomb and cannot play now. It was very sad. - Ted

A reminder: timing is everything.
Perhaps attempts at finding something humorous in this situation is too soon after such destruction and the continued killing.

Wadda buncha old ladies.
This is the same Iraqi News information officer that stood on the roof of their complex in Baghdad and claimed American forces were nowhere near downtown... as an M1A rolled across the street behind him.
I mean, if you need to find something to despise Americans over, why not pick on Britney Spears covers of Edith Piaf?
"Oh I'll never trade my Escalade... God bless my SUV!"
