Hello. This is a wonderful place and I am looking for advise on selling some equipment. I am a retired teacher who played/taught clarinet as a second instrument. I am a percussionist and had about 6 private clarinet students but have decided to retire from teaching privately as well.
I am looking for advise from you professionals.
Here is what I have
E-11 Made in Germany, 1960 Bb Clarinet
It was re-corked and padded about 8 years ago. Used only for teaching a few lessons a week.
It has the original MP and barrell.
I upgraded the moutpiece to Vandoren M13,and a Moennig Barrel B64. Those are only 2 years old.
It also has a Vandoren Optimum Ligature that is one year old
I have a vintage R13 from 1958.
It has the orignal MP and barrell but also a new Moennig Barrel B660 as well. This instrument plays (for me) slightly flat so I got that barrell and it helps a lot. I had a professional orchestra player play it and he loves it and could play it in tune.
This instrument was re-padded, corked and tuned/adjusted by a technician in Syracuse, NY who used to fix instrument for NY phil players when he lived there.
The barrels cost me $300 each. The Ligature was $80 and the mouthpiece was $125
I am NOT looking to get rich but was wondering if selling the clarinets with original parts seperately is recommended.
Then having a seperate sale for the barrels, ligature and MP?
OR
Lowball price for selling everything in one big package deal?
Those barrels are like new. VERY little playing time. Same with MP and ligature.
Any thoughts on prices for the clarinets? I have not searched around yet here or on e-bay.
I also have a Reed Wizard. That cost me $300
In mint condition
Thanks for ANY input you could give.
