hey, i was wonderin if anyone has heard the overture to the barber of seville...we're playin it in orch and there are numerous things on my part that sound different than a recording i have (like the oboe solo at the beginning). does anyone know if there are 2 (fairly) different versions floating around?

Gee i've never heard of the piece before. But i surely know that it has a very famous oboe solo (which is very very fast right?) in it. So is it THAT solo or another one?

in the introduction, there's a 6-bar or so oboe solo at the beginning going about 52 beats a minute...i've heard two ways, one where the strings start this eighth note pattern and then the oboe comes in on the third beat, and another where the oboe and strings come in together.
