sorry i dont know what to call it but the piece of rubber where your left thumb goes, is that actually a key or just a thumb rest. and also on a fingering chart is that the key or is the key just above it the one shown on a fingering chart.

the piece of plastic that your left thumb goes on is only a thumb rest type of thing. the key to the right of it is the octave key. It looks like a fingernail kinda.

Just a thumbrest and the thing above it is an octave key
