if you had any choice in the whole world and unending technique and knowledge, which instrument would you play?

Oboe of course.......well, only if it had an ever lasting amount of 'perfect' reeds (although eveyone knows this will never, ever happen......oh!! if onlY!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure you meant it to sound like it does, but you've actually posed a near-philosophical question that's virtually impossible to answer in anything more than a superficial and hasty manner. Of all the instruments I know of, I'd still stick with the oboe; however if I had unlimited knowledge, I might be inclined to choose differently, as might anyone else in that set of circumstances.

hmmm....sounds interesting
one of my bandmates were discussing about this not long ago too.....well....like most of us here oboe would be my first choice......

Give me the vast amount of knowledge first, then I'll tell you! If I could choose one instrument, it would be english horn probably, but what do I know.

Another thing, if you had unlimited knowledge and technique, then shouldn't you by definition be able to play every instrument in the world perfectly anyway?

First off, what is "oboe damore? Secondly, tenor sax, i don;t know why there are som many oboe freaks on this website.
