 Minor keys

I am a new flute player.. decided I wanted to learn this instrument.. anyway how do you play minor chords? Ok so I know a flute doesn't play chords, so if I have only a guitar chord chart music I am looking on and it shows Em or Am or Dm.. and so on.. what would I do to try and match it on the flute? I thought since alot of music I get I don't usually get the sheet music, I could improvise with the chord charts? Do you just play the root notes of the minor chord?

You don't play chords at all, you play the melodies.

You can play minor scales. :)
