 Wow that's low, for Alto Sax!

I got some wonderful music, but it requires me to know everything from low E until middle C or so. I looked in my book, and it only goes to low B flat. So does the chart on this page. Help!

Well, the tube is only sooo long. If you have notes below low Bb, then what you have is not alto sax music specifically, and you'll have to take all those notes up an octave. Or I guess you could roll up a 5 ft. long piece of posterboard and stick it in you bell... That's probably not very practical though.

you probably are reading alto clarinet music, it is in the same pitch, but the alto clarinet can go lower.
