I Play Sax to and it's an esy instrument to play but only thing that hurts is when you have to tightin up you lips to get the right pitch and dont ever ever ever ever stick yor sax in the bath tub or let any water touch the cork and pads.

OK, THANKS. ILL NEVER BUT MY SAX IN THE TUB!!!! MY BARI SAX WONT EVEN FIT (HAHA)!!! AND TIGHTENING UP IS NOT THAT DIFFICULT!!! GRANTED, I PLAY BARI SAX, BUT I PLAY ALTO TOO!!!! AND I CAN HIT THE WAY-HIGH F ON THE ALTO (ABOVE THE STAFF) WITHOUT PROBLEM!!!!
PS - WHAT WAS YOU QUESTION???

Just keep practicing. I suggest playing scales REALLY slow -its called playing LONG TONES- that builds the muscles in your mouth verry fast and will lead to a healthy and productive tone.

Um hi peeps, Ok.. i played alto for 2 years and last year i kinda gave up on it. And i totally forgot to play some of the notes (D, E, F) and so on, so do u know ne good websites that show u? <lol> Becuz the band im in, there..lets say they have a higher "education" on playing their instruments so HELP!!!

I'm in the same predicament as alto_girlie. I played for 3 yrs, stopped for a year and now im in band and forgot how to play! Football game tomorrow i gotta play at too!! And the songs are really hard.
