Switching from the clarinet to the sax is a lot easier than going the other way. The fingerings are generally the same as the upper register fo the clarinet. Even some of the pinky keys are the same. You just have to get used to having the same notes for both octaves and the special fingerings for the highest notes. There are also a few other fingering which are different. It isn't too hard overall to switch. I've already started learning the sax a little, and it isn't hard to learn.

I agree with Joe on this, Learning a sax from a clarinet is very easy, the fingerings are mostly the same, you already know how to blow through a woodwind mouthpeice, making it even easier. Good Luck!!

All of these guys have a great point. Also, If you don't feel particularly comforytable with Saxophone, but you still want to play the music, if you play the lower register of the CLarinet, like a Saxophone, it transposes itself to Eb. ( If you are playing a Eb Saxophone)
Clarinet-Saxophone
Low F= Low C
Low G= Low D
and so forth. Once you hit Open G(which would be Middle D on a saxophone) You just work your way up on the notes.

It would be very easy to switch. Switch to tenor sax because tenor sax and clarinet are both B flat. Upper register is still the same.
