Here;s a weird one...what is the octave range of an oboe?

The oboe has about a 3 octave range from Bb (below middle C) to F.

The range used in earlier 20th Century works is at least to the second A above the staff as seen in Stavinsky's Pulchinella. The seckond G is common in the works of Ravel. The Prodan book of 1983 lists fingerings to the second D above the treble staff. I recently heard Alex Klein in recital use the second C above the staff in a Schubert transcription. It may be on his recording of of the Arpeggione Sonata. He said he had an alternative ready if he had felt that the reed wouldnk't do the C, so it is a precarious and not prdictable up there.

actually low Bb to A 4 ledger lines, and 1 note above, above the staff. It's not really practical although I can play it. I am a lowly high school student though.
